two too many drinks will only make us two good liars...

Hey Hey y'all,

I hope you enjoyed PART ONE of what will be FOUR blog posts covering The Two To Be Lonely Tour. :)

PART TWO covering our time in Washington is below. I love Washington and we got to spend two weeks touring there while we were out on this tour, basically playing Washington from top to bottom. It was so great! Hope you enjoy!

On the road again...

The drive from Montana to Washington was not too shabby.

Montana is so beautiful in the fall!

Being tourists along the way and checking out the Grand Coulee Dam...massive and super cool!

Our first show in Washington was at one of my very favorite places, Old Schoolhouse Brewery in the cutest town ever - Winthrop, WA. I am so fond of this little village. It's a bit of an extra trip to drive up through the mountains to find it, but so very worth it every time.

You know this had to happen at Old Schoolhouse Brewery...

Seriously. Winthrop, WA could not get any more adorable if it tried. Love this little village and the people here so much!

The next day we definitely left Winthrop and TOTALLY forgot to fill up on gas beforehand.

Whoops.

Yeah, there aren't gas stations in the mountains. Because you're in the freakin' mountains. This meant that we had a fun adventure coasting an hour and a half through the mountains trying to conserve fuel and got to the gas station, where we made it within about 2 minutes before we would have totally run out gas, JUST in time.

Buncha amateurs.

That night we played a show in Tacoma, WA and got to see some friends from our home state of Michigan. My good friend, Liz lives out in Seattle now and I love getting to see her every time we venture out west to play.

While we were in Seattle, we stayed with my other good friends, Derrick and Tina. I feel so grateful when I think about all the friends we have and that we've made as we've travelled on these different tours. When you're out on the road for months, it truly is nice to see a familiar face once in awhile. Liz, Derrick and Tina make us feel so at home when we're away from home. I can't thank them enough for the kindness they show us each time we visit!

Luckily we had a couple days off after the Tacoma show and one of them happened to be the Sunday that the Packers were playing. We didn't have to miss the game. Justin was very happy about this.

After a couple days off we were back at it!

We played in Olympia for the first time at a cool little spot called The Pig Bar. The folks and staff here were so sweet. These are our new friends, Mike and Jamie. They were adorable. They danced, they sang and they made us feel so welcomed in Olympia!

This was also the day before my birthday, so we decide to celebrate a little after the show by hanging with the locals and eating BBQ and the best corn bread ever. It was a good choice.

On the day of my birthday we played a show in one of my favorite places on the map - Union, WA.

This little village is a GEM. The people are wonderful and the beauty is unreal. Seriously, you feel like you're in a scene out of a movie when you're here. Folks in Union could not be nicer. It is full of wonderful musicians and those who appreciate music. Every time I've had the opportunity to play here, it has been a lovely experience. I always look forward to coming back!

B-E-A-UTIFUL.

I'm not kidding when I tell you that half the town in Union are musicians. We played all weekend in Union and it was one giant friends/love/JAM fest. And Justin got everyone in the place to sing me Happy Birthday at midnight. :)

This guy has been at every show we've every played at Robin Hood. He's such an awesome supporter of music AND pretty darn good on the harmonica too!

HI! :D

We had one day off in-between shows at Robin Hood so we explored Union and then played an open mic near Olympia later that night. It was a good day.

Lovely - Union, WA.

Found a super weird (in the best way) thrift/vintage shop while we were out and about.

Robin Hood Resort is SO DANG ADORABLE.

AND I found a swing in the forest while I was going for a walk. SO happy. Just so happy you guys.

Also found this swing. Can this just be my backyard please? Thanks. :)

More Union. I couldn't stop taking photos.

Making friends with Seagulls.

Oh yeah, we also went kayaking and saw some seals. They are so cute! None of them would swim over to us while we were out on the ocean though, probably a good thing. We were wishing to see a whale too though, Justin especially, but no dice.

After the weekend playing in Union, we grabbed a ferry the next morning back to Seattle for the show we had in the city that night. This was my first experience taking my vehicle on a boat. It was interesting and I only panicked a little. First time for everything I guess. :)

We got out and walked around a little during the duration of the trip and WE FINALLY SAW A WHALE. It was a little far off, but we could see it and it was shooting water up. It was so cool and I was really happy that Justin got to see his whale. Everyone on the ferry was freaking out. I wish it would have come a little closer to us. Maybe next time.

First time taking a ferry to a show. Neat.

The venue we played in Seattle was adorable and had all kinds of wine and pastries. Sign me up for all of that please.

The next day, I was so happy we had a day off in Seattle to walk around a bit. I really love Seattle. It's such a unique and interesting city. We also caught ALL (and I do mean ALL) of the Pokemon while we were out exploring. Seattle has more Pokemon than I have ever seen anywhere else in my life. It was nuts. (yeah, we're nerds)

Seattle. <3

Take me back.

Pretty day in the city.

After our day off spent exploring and catching Pokemon in Seattle, we had two more shows before we headed onward to Oregon. Our first show of the two was at Soul Food Coffee in Redmond. It was out first time playing here and we really enjoyed playing that stage!

Such a neat little spot in Redmond. We can't wait to play here again!

While we were in Redmond we got to see even more friends! It was so nice to spend some time with you, Grace. :) Thanks for hanging and coming to the show!

Our last show in Washington was at The Black Dog in Snoqualmie. This was our first time here and they had the coolest stage. My friend, Liz and her family were able to make it out to this show as well. Her kids were our number one fans and even helped me set up my merchandise that night! It was a wonderful send off to the next leg of the tour.

Justin warming up.

I already miss Washington. For reelz. If I could play out that way more often I totally would. I am thankful that I've been able to visit and play at least a couple times a year though, and I'm thankful that we got to spend so much time playing throughout the state during this particular tour. It's a beautiful, beautiful part of the country.

Stay tuned for PART THREE covering the Two To Be Lonely Tour coming attcha over the next couple of days! The next post will cover our adventures in stunning Oregon and California. I'm having the best time reliving this tour and remembering how much fun we had. It's making me want to hit the road back out west soon something fierce though!

Thanks for reading y'all

nothin' but love
